Good morning/afternoon or evening. Whichever the case may be.

I was just sitting here thinking about working on the hat I am knitting for my nephew and that got me thinking about all my other non finished projects.
Like a crocheted blanket for the same nephew. Or this other blanket I was attempting to Knit.
For a brief second I almost considered myself a knitter. But then thought "I haven't learned how to do anything special or any special stitches or cables yet. I can't possibly be considered a knitter yet. "
I still have 2 skeins of this awesome wool blend sock yarn and the 5 dpns I bought to learn how to make socks. I think I ran screaming from that project.
My newest obsession is hats. I love, love, LOVE making hats. Now true I do not decrease enough to get to where you need to switch to dpns I just finish the hat to length and cinch closed. My kids love them just the same.
Plus I do not knit enough to warrant buying size 8 or 10 dpns to make it worth the money. If that were the case I either would have really expensive hats or hats coming out the wazoo.
The only place for me to get knitting supplies is not exactly cheap. I do not know how much things are at other places but a size 8,16" circular needle is $7.75. So are the dpns. The bigger the size the more expensive. So spending roughly $15 for needles to make hats just doesn't cut it for me.
I know Walmart sells circular needles but they are 29" in length and that is way to long for my needs. But it is only like $3.
I haven't learned yet how to knit smaller objects on longer circulars. I have saw tutorials, watched videos, and my mind can't seem to wrap around it.
For now anyway I am ok with that.
I am still thinking about that blanket I am attempting to knit. I am not happy with it at all. Not sure what it is. It may be cus I am winging it and not using a pattern. I might look up some patterns and frog what I have done now and start over. Better that than have a blanket I don't like. I may end up crocheting it instead.
First things first I have to finish the projects for my nephew so they can get mailed out.

May your new year be filled with lots of happiness and finished projects :)
