I actually got my first order from a paying customer. Ok she is my daughter's boyfriend's mother. But a customer nonetheless.
She is wanting 3 of those pillow pals I made. One will be the unicorn, one is a turtle and the other is a sock monkey.
I have started thinking about seriously stocking up on some items and maybe getting a booth at a craft fair or flea market. I am not really sure about the flea market. I want to be present to watch over my things. I don't care how many security cameras the place has.....people will still destroy and steal your stuff in the blink of an eye if they are not watched.
I just have no idea how much I will need to prepare for something like this. I don't want to have people actually buy stuff and then I run out. But I also don't want to have so much that nobody buys and I am stuck with a ton of stuff and wasted money making it all.
For now I am happy with making the pillow pals and will put my energy into those for the time being.
If you or anyone you know has had a booth or similar, let me know how it went so I know how to prepare.

My suggestion would be to stock up on things you can sell in other ways, give as gifts for various things that come up that you always seem to need a gift for, or as donations because there are always times we want to give and don't have anything made or the time or money to make the projects to give.
I really like that idea. I have thought for years that I need to have a stockpile of gifts ready and waiting.
