Last day of August

Most people are proclaiming today the last day of summer. I think I will wait until August 23 to say so when Fall actually begins.

I did go sit outside for a few minutes to take a few pictures. Also to feed the mosquitoes apparently.
The cats ran around playing in the front yard. Well one did anyway. Boomer just sat next to me watching Claire run around like a crazy fool.
I was impressed,Claire actually caught a lightning bug. Then like most human children she had to look and see if she really caught it and it flew away. So she hunted me and Boomer instead.

I always find it crazy that I live in a beautiful area in walking distance o the lake and I never go outside. Then again maybe it is not so crazy. Have you ever been camping? The endless amount of bugs and mosquitoes constantly trying to make a meal out of you.

I am a big city girl by nature. I grew up in and around Indianapolis. Kentucky was just where we came to visit Grandma and Grandpa.

When we first moved here about five years ago I think I did spend quite a bit of time outside. If I had a garden I was outside more. That "fad" went away and I am back to being half country girl that hates wearing shoes and half city girl that screams at any creepy crawly that comes withing distance of me.

One thing that is best by far is there is no sirens from emergency vehicles going by at all hours. It is so quiet out here you can hear the frogs singing their songs all night.
