My kids LOVE making these! They are so easy to make and fun too.
THINGS YOU WILL NEED:
* a bunch of balloons
* an unsharpened pencil
* a funnel (mine is a pop bottle with the bottom cut off)
* a cup (optional)
For picture purposes I did my work on the baby's high chair. That way if I spilled some lentils they wouldn't roll off and get everywhere.
This is all my stuff all laid out and ready to go. \/
(yes I know my pencil was sharpened but that was all I had today)
First thing is to pick out 2 colors of balloons. Or 2 of the same color if that is what you want.
Put the balloon on the end of your funnel.\/
Pour some lentils into the funnel. I use the cup to hold my lentils since the bag tends to flop around while pouring and I don't like picking up the stray beans.\/
Now take your pencil and push the lentils through into the balloon. This way you get lots inside the balloon and makes the ball bigger.\/
This is how it looks when you take the balloon off the end of your funnel.\/ It doesn't look like much is in there but after the next few stepsit will look more like a ball.
Tie off the balloon as close to the beans as you can. Then cut off the excess.\/
Take the second balloon and cut in half width wise. \/
Stretch the bottom half of the balloon over the new "ball" you made before. Make sure to use the second balloon to cover the knot that you made tieing off earlier.
These kind of remind me of a buck-eye when you use the 2 colors of balloons.
These are great for making at birthday parties and family reunions. Actually anytime I need to keep kids occupied I bring this stuff along.
